Hurston Allen Nicholas

Mr. Nicholas represents the Shawnee National Forest on the Illinois Forestry Development Council. Currently, Mr. Nicholas is the Forest Supervisor on the Shawnee National Forest. He administers the management of the Forest, which comprises approximately 278,000 acres in the southern part of Illinois and hosts 750,000 visitors annually. Allen has been on the Shawnee Forest since September 2002, but has 17 years with the Forest Service in national forests in Kentucky, South Carolina and Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science in forest resource management in 1981 from Mississippi State and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi in 1989.
